Only 13 days left...

Saturday, August 29:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BECKY HOLT!

This morning, we got out of Norfolk later than usual- around 8ish. It was a very good day on the water, seeing as we were in the ICW (yay!!!)… and we got to see some pretty cool stuff too!

This is Old Point Comfort:

Then, we went past all the Navy ships in Norfolk- there are a TON! We counted 5 carriers and 26 unidentified ships.

We went thru maybe 8 bridges today- some of which had to open for us, which is always fun, and then we went thru the Great Bridge Locks again! …feels like only yesterday… (it was July 26)
Here are some pictures:

The marina where we’re staying tonight was just on the other side of the Great Bridge Bridge.
We had to re-fuel- here’s me helpin out!

Tomorrow, we’re headed to Roanoke Island!
13 days, folks! Times flies when you’re havin a blast!

p.s. There's a DQ across the street! oh, happy day! :D

M&M BLIZZARD

Today is Tuesday, August 04, 2009.

We’re at the Belmar Marina in the Shark River.

While we were on the way, we saw a lighthouse!
Barnegat Lighthouse. (somebody find a picture of this one, because somehow we failed.)

Fran and I played Bananagrams up on the bridge. (Quickly becoming one of my favorite games, bytheway. It’s a word game- kinda like Scrabble but way better, more fun… you get to yell things like “PEEL!” and “BANANAS!”) We were out in the ocean, and the seas were rolly (that is so a word.) but definitely not as bad as Sunday.

We went through a VERY narrow bridge to get into the marina today! had to hold our breath!
Docking was a challenge today. No headsets (one wasn’t charged), which makes it very difficult to communicate with one another.

Once we got the boat tied down and rinsed, we walked across the street to Dairy Queen- that’s right, I said across the street! Tonight we’re having steaks on the boat.

Tomorrow, we’re off to Jersey City!

Carlson out.

Do what you like. Like what you do.
